Write api in perl

Perl rest client getuseragent

It's hard for me to be neutral vis a vis Perl and Python because I am much more comfortable writing Perl, but I felt like the release process for python was really not very straightforward. What languages are the examples written in? What do you think? Quite possibly. Is this a worthwhile project? This isn't a knock on Perl's OO or perceived lack of OO capabilities, but rather a realization that I used my Perl library as a "first draft" client with the API service itself - prioritizing "it just works" over "it's elegantly constructed. That might seem strange to you as you sit inside the Perl community echo chamber reading the Perl Ironman or p5p, but try this simple experiment. Of course, in some cases good Perl support exists already — Net::Twitter is a good example. And I think or, perhaps, hope that most API owners will be grateful to add more examples of API usage to their site — particularly if it involves next to no effort on their part.

And I'd take the simplicity of writing TAP vs. This then becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy as Github fills with more and more projects using other languages to talk to these APIs. They just never come across it. They just never come across it. It's a culture shock coming from a background of CPAN.

But aside from being generally unfamiliar with the cultural mores of the Python world, working with Python was good for my Perl code in the sense that it really focused me on how objects within the client should interact with each other.

Think of a web site that you use and that supplies an API. Finally, there's the mess of installing a python distribution with all of its dependencies. I would judge myself an "intermediate" pythonista mostly due to inexperience.
